Membership terms and conditions

Our database of members is kept securely in accordance with our privacy policy.

These terms and conditions shall govern membership of HomeOwners Alliance. By using or accessing HomeOwners Alliance HomeHelpline, legal helpline and/or discounted services, you will be deemed to have accepted these terms in full.

If you become a member of the HomeOwners Alliance you should receive both an email receipt and a welcome email (including details of your membership number) within hours of joining online. If you do not receive these emails, please contact us. We do not offer refunds on membership. Payment is taken in full when membership is applied for and runs for one year. It is a reoccurring payment; which you can cancel before your membership is renewed (you will receive a reminder email).

Home Helpline service

All written and oral communication from the HomeOwners Alliance is given in good faith. No responsibility or liability whatsoever (whether direct, indirect, consequential, special, exemplary or otherwise) is accepted by us for the accuracy or reliability of our advice (including, for the avoidance of doubt, our estate agent contract review service), nor shall we be held liable for the consequence of reliance upon such communication.

Legal Helpline service

Our legal helpline service is provided by Law Express Limited (lawexpress.co.uk) which focuses exclusively on providing legal advice by telephone to companies and membership organisations and is not a legal practice. Advice is given by legal advisers with experience of the subject in question.

Each HomeOwners Alliance member is entitled to one call to the legal helpline per membership year. Advice from the legal helpline is given by telephone only and not in writing.

By submitting a request for a legal advice call, you consent to us passing your name, telephone number and a short summary of your legal query to Law Express Limited. Law Express Limited’s data protection policy is here and privacy policy is here.

If you do not agree with these terms and conditions, please refrain from using the HomeOwners Alliance membership service.

Discounted services and concierge service

As a member of HomeOwners Alliance, you have access to discounted conveyancing and insurance products; full details of how to claim these are set out in your welcome email. If you have any queries, please contact us.

Members who have opted for our concierge service will receive details in their welcome email of how to book in a call with our partner, JustMoveIn, to discuss their change of occupancy and related services.

Complaints

If you have a complaint about our membership service, please contact us by emailing member@hoa.org.uk,  calling 033 088 2051, or writing to: HomeOwners Alliance, Aztec House, 397-405 Archway Road, London N6 4EY.

We aim to resolve any complaint about our service as quickly as possible. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and will explain how we will investigate your complaint.  We will endeavor to respond within 28 days from receiving your complaint.

If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the handling of the complaint, you will be given the opportunity to escalate the complaint to a Director of HomeOwners Alliance.

If you have a complaint about one of the tools or services you have used via our site, but is provided by a third-party, we will raise a complaint on your behalf with our partner in an attempt to have an early resolution. We will also give you the contact details and complaints procedure for you to raise your complaint yourself.
