Have you recently applied for a mortgage?

Do you want to share your experience?

If you have recently applied for a mortgage, then the University of York and the University of Bristol would love to hear about your experience.

Did all go well with your mortgage application or did you fail the credit checks, or did you pass but have to switch mortgage products, pay a higher interest rate or even get a guarantor? Was it clear why you failed or were accepted with conditions attached? Do you regularly review your credit history files and know what data lenders used to assess you? How have you managed your credit score? What impact did the lenders’ decision have on you?

Could you talk to the researchers about your experience?

Get a £20 Amazon voucher for participating

Participation involves a confidential 30-60 minutes discussion on the phone or Zoom with their researcher. There will be a £20 Amazon voucher available to those who participate, to say thank you for your time.  All the information collected will be confidential.

How to take part in the research

If you are interested in helping the study and have applied for a mortgage in the last two years, please email alexandra.ciocanel@york.ac.uk. Please tell her briefly where you are in the country (so we can get an even spread of people), your age and credit experience and we can tell you more about the project and arrange a time to talk.

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!
