February 2015 House Price Watch indicates house prices are up on average 0.4% in the past month and up 7.9% in the past year
The major indices indicate a continued slowing of annual house price growth (the trend since July 2014). Uncertainty around the upcoming General election, more stringent lending criteria and the expectation of an interest rate rise at some point in 2015 may be having an unsettling effect on the housing market. However, property websites report a flurry of early activity in January and the general outlook for 2015 is positive.
