We are the only member organisation in the UK championing homeowners’ and aspiring homeowners’ rights. Organisations like ours have been long established in continental Europe.
Since 2012, we have helped hundreds of members when they have had no-one else to turn to with homeownership queries. We raise media interest for our members’ difficulties where necessary and campaign for reform in areas such as new build, leasehold and the general buying/selling process.

Our Home Helpline helps members with the full range of queries homeowners may encounter – from helping first time buyers making offers, to sellers dealing with estate agents, home improvement projects, leasehold queries, planning queries and difficulties with neighbours.
We usually help people with problems they want solved or to guide them through a process they aren't familiar with. Other members join to get a second opinion from the range of experts and property professionals we work with, for the legal advice line or to take advantage of our member discounts.
Your membership lasts for a year at which point it either ends at your request or is automatically renewed for the standard membership fee of £45.
We will send you a reminder before renewing your membership – if you don’t want to renew, please just let us know at any time and we will cancel the renewal.
Yes, our Home Helpline is manned by professional and understanding staff who will keep your information private and safe. When you join we ask for as little personal information as possible just so that we can process your membership payment and then get in touch to action your membership.
Where you supply information online to benefit from partner services we always ask for your consent, and explain why.

The Home Helpline is staffed by a professional team who have considerable experience in residential property. We can help on queries relating to home buying, selling, managing and improving.
For example, we can help you to consider the pros and cons of shared ownership, or understand the implications of buying a leasehold flat. Or if you are wondering when to sell and which estate agent to use. We can also help homeowners who have problems with repair works, builders or neighbours.
Once you join HomeOwners Alliance, you will receive our dedicated HomeHelpline phone number and email address. The HomeHelpline phone line is open Monday-Friday from 9.30am to 5.00pm, or email us any time for a response usually within one working day. We would be more than happy to help with any homeownership queries you may have.
Our partner Just Move In will help you manage household and mover related admin including council tax, water, energy, broadband, media, removals, cleaning, storage and more. This could save you hours of tedious administrative work as well as, in many cases, hundreds of pounds by signing up to new deals.
You will be invited to book in a phone call appointment with your dedicated concierge manager (or you can call them at a time that suits you), where you will then be assisted through each of the services they can manage on your behalf, including the change of occupancy notification, and additional options such as broadband and energy.
Their personal and efficient team help buyers and sellers like you everyday. After the phone call, your concierge manager will then action everything they have agreed with you, whilst confirming with you in an email. You will then hear from any relevant suppliers directly.

Although we are not lawyers, our team have wide experience in the type of issues that commonly cause problems in estate agent contracts.
We can help you negotiate a fairer deal with the estate agent at the outset. Or, if you want to terminate with your agent or are already in dispute with them, our friendly team can discuss your options and next steps.
Our legal helpline provides HomeOwners Alliance members with unbiased, confidential and prompt telephone legal advice on residential property and related legal matters. The telephone legal advice service is provided by our partner Law Express Ltd (lawexpress.co.uk).
How many legal calls do I get as a member?
Members get one free telephone call per year and any further phone calls only cost £30 per legal helpline call.
How quickly can I have my legal call?
Normally we can set this up for you on the same day as you becoming a member or on the next working day.
How do I set up my legal phone call?
Once you become a member you can contact the membership team by email or phone to set up your call with a lawyer.
Can the lawyer help me review or prepare documentation?
No, advice is given by telephone only and not in writing and no documents can be considered or drafted.
Members get a 10% discount on legal fees when they use our conveyancing quote tool with access to a panel of 150 quality assured conveyancing law firms.
The discount excludes supplements which are additional charges that may apply where transactions are not standard, e.g. because a property is leasehold, or there is a shared equity scheme. All costs are set out clearly in your quote.
On becoming a member of the HomeOwners Alliance you will be emailed a unique code which can be entered when you obtain a quote from our conveyancing service.
Members will receive up to a 20% discount on their home insurance, buildings insurance or contents insurance through our partners A-Plan Insurance Services. Members can simply call 08000 325935 and give the insurance adviser their membership number to get their discount applied to their quote.
Our Homebuyers’ Protection Insurance provides up to £1500 of cover for conveyancing, mortgage and survey fees if your property purchase falls through. Members get a 20% discount when using this offer and will receive a discount code to claim their discounted price, saving approximately £10.
Please note that you cannot be reimbursed for costs incurred before the policy start date so you must take out cover before you instruct a conveyancer or undertake a survey of the property you want to buy.
