June 2015 House Price Watch indicates house prices are up on average 0.8% in the past month and the rate of annual house price growth has slowed to 6.1%.
- Home sales stable (March HMRC data) and mortgage approvals fell slightly (March Bank of England data).
- Supply of homes for sale remains tight with new instructions down so far in 2015
- Confidence now is a good time to sell is rising and agents expect new enquiries to increase as uncertainty lifts post-election
- The proportion who feel now is a good time to buy is down slightly and the recent Halifax Generation Rent report indicates that there are growing numbers of first-time buyers who are giving up on owning their own home.
