The Money Advice Service find most people surprised by the cost of moving
August 13, 2012
A recent survey by the Money Advice Service asked 1,000 home-movers (those who had moved in the last 3 years) whether they were surprised by the cost of moving. Some were renting, some owning, but a worrying 68% of respondents said they were suprised by the cost of moving. 37% said the costs were more than they were expecting, and 20% said they incurred costs that were either overlooked or unexpected.
This survey highlights how little is known about the complicated and expensive process of moving home, especially in light of the fact that over 200,000 of us will move home this summer. To learn more about the hidden costs of buying a home read our guide here.
